Top Ten Books Read in 2017

Banner_top books and series

I have had the privilege of reading a a great number of books this year so narrowing it down to only ten favorites was incredibly difficult. But at last here we are. The year 2017 has come to a close and to reflect briefly on those months that have passed I’ve come up with a list of the top ten books I read in the year of 2017 along with some honorable mentions (because it really was too difficult to choose only ten!) all listed in alphabetical order. I say books I read as opposed to books released in 2017 because honestly then creating these yearly lists wouldn’t be as fun or hard. Let me know if you enjoyed any of these as well! What are some of your top books you read this year?

  1. I have read way too few books this year, something that I really hope to correct next year 😀 I haven’t read any of these, but lists such as these do help to make a few new choices (not that my to read list wasn’t already pretty much exploding this year). As I really love post apocalyptic stories, blood red road looks particularly interesting 😀😀 Great list, and if I need some more idea next year I will definitely refer again to this post 😊

    1. Haha I always like seeing these sorts of lists to hunt for books to add to my own TBR list (not that it isn’t huge enough already haha). Blood Red Road was a pretty cool book. The formatting was a little strange (such as the author doesn’t use quotation marks to differentiate dialogue from narration) but once you get used to it the story really takes over.
      Happy New Year! 😀

      1. Thank you very much, well I’ve already bookmarked it. Abd thanks for the heads up about the writing style 😊
And where are my manners: happy new year to you as well! Hopefully 2018 is going to bring you a lot of goodness 😊😊

  2. I love reading people’s best book lists. I haven’t heard of most of these books or authors, so I’m clearly missing out. I did watch the film The 5th Wave and felt it was lacking something. Perhaps the film didn’t fully bring the book to life as so often happens.
    Happy reading in 2018!

    1. Me too! It’s always interesting to see what books made it onto people’s lists plus sometimes I discover new books that way too!
I saw the movie before reading the book and that’s exactly how I felt. It seemed as if the movie skimmed across the surface of a deeper story and so I decided to try the book. It won’t be for everyone but the book definitely had a lot more depth both in story and in character. I really loved it!
