Jess from @jbelkbooks opened this tag up to everyone and it looked like fun so I decided, why not? This tag includes a series of tests that dig into who you are and how you operate (e.g. Myer-Briggs, Left/Right Brain, learning preference, blood type, Hogwarts House, and others). I invite anyone who wants to participate to go ahead! 🙂
(Note: each test is linked in the section’s title)
What is the meaning of my name?
Okay here’s what it says: From the medieval Latin masculine name Angelus which was derived from the name of the heavenly creature (itself derived from the Greek word αγγελος (angelos)meaning “messenger“). As an English name, it came into use in the 18th century.
Well, I already knew that haha it’s easy to guess (:
What is my Myer-Briggs Personality Type?
I took the official Myer-Briggs test in my AP Psychology class and my result was INTJ. This is a much shorter (and free) version but it does a really good job. I was curious to see if I’ve maybe changed since high school but nope! I’m still an INTJ 😉
So what does being an INTJ mean…?
“Women of this personality type are especially rare, forming just 0.8% of the population – it is often a challenge for them to find like-minded individuals who are able to keep up. People with the INTJ personality type are imaginative yet decisive, ambitious yet private, amazingly curious, but they do not squander their energy.
A paradox to most observers, INTJs are able to live by glaring contradictions that nonetheless make perfect sense – at least from a purely rational perspective. For example, INTJs are simultaneously the most starry-eyed idealists and the bitterest of cynics, a seemingly impossible conflict.“
This is actually very accurate. Scary.
Oh, and when you take your test you’ll get an overview and then detailed breakdowns that include areas such as strengths & weaknesses, friendships, career paths, habits, etc. It’s pretty interesting (:
What is my Zodiac Sign?
There’s also a personality diagnosis but honestly most of the things it says about Aries don’t fit me. The Myer-Briggs test lined up much more closely with who I am.
What is my Hogwarts House?
Well we all know that the official sorting quiz is on Pottermore (seeing as it was designed by J.K. Rowling herself) but this quiz works well enough and it saves you the trouble of having to register for a Pottermore account. So my official house is Gryffindor (although I’ve occasionally been sorted into either Ravenclaw or Slytherin, but never Hufflepuff) but let’s see what this quiz says…
Gryffindor – 13
Slytherin – 12
Ravenclaw – 9
Hufflepuff – 6
Haha still a Gryffindor 🙂 As expected.
What is my Learning Style?
I’m really curious to take this quiz because I learn in a combination of ways.
For history or factual lessons I do really well in lecture settings where the professor talks while I write a thousand notes.
For science lessons or physical skills I learn better by listening to the teacher explain while watching them demonstrate and then trying to replicate the skill for myself.
For music or language lessons I rely heavily on my ear. I listen intently, watch closely (mouth positions are important for pronunciation and especially with singing technique), and repeat, writing down phonetic notes along the way as necessary.
So let’s see what this test says…
Ha! Apparently I have a “multimodal learning preference” and, well, that actually makes a lot of sense. 🙂
Kinesthetic – 11
Read/Write – 9
Visual – 8
Aural – 6
Am I Right or Left Brained?
Left: rules, language, strategy, rationality, logic details
Right: images, chaos, creativity, fantasy, intuition, curiosity
Usually when I take these quizzes it says I’m 50/50 but this time I got:
66% Left and 34% Right.
What is my Blood Type?
Unknown. I actually have no idea what my blood type is. I probably should but I don’t. And even if I did I probably shouldn’t say just in case there are any vampires following my blog 😉
What career am I meant to have?
These internet quizzes always make me skeptical because my results vary so widely. You’d probably be better off with the suggestions provided by the Myer-Briggs test but I mean these quizzes are fun too.
My top 5 results:
Arts – 13
Business – 11
Education – 10
Information Technology – 9
Law – 9
Well it’s a good thing Arts is listed at the top because I majored in Theatre in college and I’m currently pursuing my love for writing. This might be the first time a quiz was even close to accurate haha I took a ton of these in high school when I was trying to determine what to major in for college and it kept telling me to be a lawyer or researcher or custodian but in the end I chose with my gut (very un-INTJ of me) and went with Theatre 🙂
What Divergent faction do I belong in?
These quizzes never made sense to me. The books (by Veronica Roth) take place in a city where these people were part of a grand experiment. The end goal was for them to intermix over generations and eventually all become “divergent” and since we were never part of this dissected society then clearly we are all “divergent.”
Haha I’m overthinking it, sorry 😉
If I had to guess…I’m probably closest to Erudite (although I was in Candor for the movie).
Omg seriously?? The only way I’d be able to survive in Amity is if they gave me double rations of bread (for those of you who haven’t read the books they make the bread with a little something extra that makes everyone more peaceful and happy and friendly). But yeah, I’m definitely not Amity. Erudite I can at least understand.
Well…now you definitely know way too much about me haha It was fun taking these quizzes though so I definitely encourage you to take some free time and find out your own results. See what matches up and what doesn’t 🙂
Thanks for indulging me and this very long, very informative post.
