Thank you @TwinReads for tagging me! It took me a while to get to it but it was a lot of fun to answer! Be sure to check out Twin Reads!

The Rules

  2. Answer the questions asked on this post
  3. Nominate at least five people to do it also
  4. Let your nominees know you nominated them

Describe your perfect reading spot!

reading

Someplace cozy, private, climate-controlled, and with a window. Someplace I can stretch out or curl up, where my dog can sit with me if he wants, and a lamp can perch nearby for when the sun goes down but I’m not ready to stop reading.

Tell us three bookish confessions!

guilty smile

I used to dog-ear book pages as a kid (except for my Harry Potter books).
I sometimes return a book to the bookstore if I give it less than 4 stars.
I often only read the first book in a series unless it really impressed me enough to buy/read the rest and/or if I don’t fear a beloved character dying.

When was the last time you cried during a book?

not crying.gif

Oh now that’s a tough question. I don’t usually cry reading. I definitely get really really sad, but I don’t cry. Actually I generally get more angry than tearful. I refuse to admit the few times I have though.
😜 Okay fine. Monsters of Men, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, Of Mice and Men, Animal Farm, The Outsiders. Aaaaand that might be it actually. At least that I can remember.

How many books are on your bedside table?

Jeff Koterba color carton for 7/21/09 "Mars"

Currently just the ones on my Kindle. I’ve FINALLY made it through the towering stack of books waiting to be read. I’m sure the next time I’m at a bookstore or library I’ll be back to building a backlog of books to read though!

What’s your favorite snack to eat while you are reading?

disgusting

I don’t usually eat anything while reading because I don’t want grease or crumbs on either the book or my Kindle. I do keep my water bottle right beside me though!

Name three books you would recommend to everyone!

READ-THE-BOOK

Chaos Walking (Patrick Ness)
Six of Crows (Leigh Bardugo)
Red Rising (Pierce Brown)

Harry Potter should just be a given 😉

Show us a picture of your favorite bookcase or a bookshelf!

secret bookcase doorway

So I don’t really have a favorite bookcase or shelf in my room mostly because at the moment they’re overfilled and surrounded by stacks of books on my floor with no room to fit on a shelf SO instead I’m using a picture of a really cool bookcase-secret doorway which I’ve always thought would be incredibly awesome to have in my house!

Describe how much books mean to you in just three words!

reading escape quote

Freedom to escape.
Freedom to feel.
Freedom to dream.

Nominations:

I nominate anyone who would like to do this tag on their own blog! It was fun to answer and I want anyone who hasn’t had a chance to do this one to go ahead and give it a go! 😄
