NaNoWriMo 2020!

The year is 2020 and stories are preparing to burst forth in a mighty flood come November 1st! Will you be amongst them?

COVID-19 cannot stop us!! In one month, writers from all over will be pushing up their sleeves and beginning the challenge of penning 50,000 words in 30 days. This challenge is called NaNoWriMo (National Novel Writing Month). This will be my 6th year and I’m hoping I’ll succeed. 2020 has been anything but predictable thus far, but I’m still determined to give NaNo a solid try! I’ll be working on a dystopian idea and I hope you’ll consider taking this challenge to explore one of your own ideas that you’ve maybe been sitting on for far too long!

To learn more about NaNoWriMo visit https://nanowrimo.org where you can also sign up and get started! This is heavy prep month (unless you’re a pantster) and then the real fun begins November 1st! And remember, there are no losers. Not really. The only way to “lose” is to a) never begin or b) give up before November 30th. Even if you don’t reach 50,000 words that’s okay! Set your own goal for how many words you want to right, or how many chapters, or whatever! The goal of this challenge is to inspire writers to actually sit their butts down and WRITE. Lol. I know that for me having this competition, daily word entry system really helps motivate me. For others they just enjoy getting to know other writers and that’s cool too! Just try.

Hopefully if you didn’t know about NaNoWriMo before, this post will prompt you to join us! You’ve got all of October to brainstorm, or if you’re a pantster then simply mark your calendar for November 1st and let the inspiration of the moment whisk you away!
