Book Blitz | In Command

I was beyond thrilled to have received an eARC for IN COMMAND, an Aunare Chronicles novella, so when the offer came to participate in the book blitz it was a no brainer. I read this whole novella in a single sitting and if you have yet to hear about this series then please keep reading this post! The Aunare Chronicles is full of sci-fi action, spaceships, aliens, dystopian chaos, romance, and characters you will love or hate. To be frank, I wasn’t sure if I’d be into this series when the first book dropped, but oh was I mistaken. It is SO GOOD. The Excerpt

“Almya. I’m not wearing—”

A throat cleared, and I didn’t even turn around. “Roan. Best friend or not, I’m going to murder you if you keep coming in here.”

“Not Roan.”

I glanced over my shoulder. Lorne.

He was leaning against the edge of the door, watching me with his aquamarine gaze that seemed to see through me. My heart picked up, and I could feel myself giving him a stupid grin, but I couldn’t stop it. “Hey.”

“Hi.” His gaze ran down my body and slowly back up, heating every inch of me. “As fashion-forward as I usually am, I think it’s probably best if you find something else for the meeting. Quickly.”

I turned back to Almya, who was still smiling—although now it looked too forced—and holding out two dresses for me to choose from.

She held one out a little farther, giving it a little shake. “This one would look lovely on you, and it’s perfect for the—”

I shook my head. “If you would just listen to me—”

“Amihanna. My love,” Lorne said softly. “I’ve been standing here for a moment, and I heard more than enough about what’s going on. The thing to remember—”

“Is that I hate dresses,” I said to Almya, hoping that she would listen. “Hate. Dresses.”

“That’s not what I was going to say.”

I turned to him, annoyed and struggling to remember that I wasn’t annoyed at him. “What?”

“The thing to remember is that you are the future queen. Not Almya.” He gave her a short, pitying glance before focusing on me again. “You decide what you do, what you say, what you wear.” He slowly walked toward me as he spoke. “So, put something on already.” He brushed a quick kiss on my lips.

The Review

BOOK ONE: Off Planet is but the beginning in a truly spectacular science fiction drama. With a kickass heroine who bears the future on her shoulders, a plot that melts down reality and time until you’re lost to all but the story flashing before you, characters that will win your heart and have you pledge loyalty, and a world that is wicked cool…beware, for this is a recipe for addiction. BOOK TWO: Off Balance is a sequel worthy of the title. It instantly sucks you back into the world, the characters, the story, and makes it nearly impossible to put down once begun though with each twist you’ll be thrown further off balance from what you think you know. Action adventure, space drama, political schemes, and just the right hit of romance has this series turning into an absolute must-read. Whether you think you’re a fan of sci-fi or not I’d urge you to give this series a try because you just might find yourself unable to part from Amihanna’s side as her life gets pulled into the unthinkable with war as the looming cost.

NOVELLA: In Command will have you laughing, swooning, crying, raging, and begging for more in the Aunare Chronicles because most of all it will ignite a battle cry that will echo on until the series finale and after.

I can normally take or leave novellas but I’ve been in love with this series from the start and when I received an email with the offer to read an eARC for an Aunare Chronicles novella I immediately took Aileen Erin up on the offer, downloaded it, binged it in an afternoon, and now am leaving a review I know will be woefully inadequate to describe how much I still love this series.

In Command continues the series, revealing some sweet moments between Amihanna and Lorne as well as some dark, painful truths. This novella is a major moment that plays a pivotal role in the growth of Amihanna’s relationships with Lorne, her father, and with the Auanre people. I was already screaming like a tea kettle ready for the next book in the Aunare Chronicles and while this novella was a wonderful chance to return to this world while waiting for On Mission, it also has me even more desperate to get my hands on it. I just clicked with this series from the very first page of book one and each book brings me deeper into its world and as of yet I have zero regrets.

If you’re wondering whether to read this novella or not, the answer is YES, definitely read it!!! Not only does it add so much, it’s so good. I almost ignored it and that would have been SUCH A MISTAKE.

If you happened to stumble across this book in your feed or someplace and you’re wondering whether to check out this series then the answer is, why are you even asking that??? Haha it’s just so good! I’m sorry, I love it and can’t help but want to share it with everyone. Sci-fi, romance, dystopia, badass heroine, swoon-worthy hero, and an epic entourage of supporting characters. SO. GOOD.
