So long, August! Time for my post of one-line reviews for a few of the books I’ve read/finished this month. It’s short and gets to the point so if you haven’t been a fan of my usual sprawling review style then this is the complete opposite. Follow me on Goodreads if you’d like to keep up with all of the books I read each month.
Note: Click on the cover of a book to visit either its Goodreads page or my full review if I wrote one.

A sassy Belle, a fae Beast, and a promising new retelling of this famous fairytale where at times the contemporary elements clashed oddly with the vintage fantasy setting and despite its attempts remained unexciting and predictable.

Creepy, but predictable, horror twist on Hide-and-Go-Seek that horror fans (not me, lol) will crave.

A twisty (yet perfectly predictable) fantasy packed with buried magic, dangerous secrets, and a love triangle.

A YA fantasy full of our favorite and familiar tropes yet its heart remained encased in ice as the predictable plot more often than not moved at a near-glacial pace and turned my reading into begrudging skimming.

Thank you to the publisher & NetGalley for sending me a copy to review!

This was a re-read of this magic-infused dark Russia-like fantasy and it’s still a good story and I still love the Darkling (lol).

I love Shadow and Bone (both the book and the Netflix series!) And of course the Darkling!

I still need to watch the show, but after re-reading the book I’m excited to give it a shot!
