YA Novella | Fantasy

Blurb:
“Before The Star-Touched Queen there was only Death and Night.
He was Lord of Death, cursed never to love. She was Night incarnate, destined to stay alone. After a chance meeting, they wonder if, perhaps, they could be meant for more. But danger crouches in their paths, and the choices they make will set them on a journey that will span lifetimes.”

pooled ink Review:
Thank you to the publisher for sending me a copy to review!
Roshani has a simply lovely and poetic writing style and voice. It always manages to whisk me away to whatever world she’s crafting. This novella is just as magical and is a wonderful tidbit for those who’ve already fallen in love with The Star-Touched Queen.
It reignites characters I personally loved in her debut novel as well as delved into their background, which obviously includes their first meeting and original love story. We get to learn more about Amar and Maya, Death and Night, and it’s all just so exquisite and romantic. It’s long enough to satisfy but short enough to be a quick delightful read. And it’s not just surface-level fluff, it delves into the deep and battles shadows that stand in their way. As one reads in The Star-Touched Queen so much stands between them trying to tear them apart only to find themselves drawn back together in their love.
The endlessly interpreted tale of Hades and Persephone is one of my favorites and I love how Roshani has spun it all her own.
Romantic, enchanting, and bursting with vivid life, Death and Night is a perfect prequel love story to The Star-Touched Queen.
Cheers.
