Sarah’s Questions
What is your favorite cover so far this year?
This is a really tough question. I recently did a post called “Cover Love” where I share just a sampling of my favorite book covers. But my favorite for this year so far? Either The Disappearances by Emily Bain Murphy or Language of Thorns by Leigh Bardugo.
Do you enjoy Audiobooks or Physical/eBooks better?
Physical books are my top choice but I use my eReader sometimes too. Audiobooks however I almost always detest. The reader just can never get all their voices right! Now what I would love is for audiobooks to be done more like radio theatre where actors sit around a table and read their own parts.
What is your 2017 reading goal?
My goal for this year is 52 books (one book per week) but I’ve already passed it so I’m pretty pleased about that and now I guess I’ll just see how many I can squeeze in before the year ends!
What is your favorite genre of YA?
Fantasy. Definitely fantasy. But if you can combine history (or old-fashioned elements) with fantasy then you’ll either bore me to tears or hit a very epic sweet spot and I will love that book forever. But I read all genres with fantasy as my favorite and contemporary as my least favorite.
If you could live in a book world which one would it be?
NO. THIS QUESTION IS TOO DIFFICULT. Oh my word…okay…I think I’m going to have to go with Narnia. Followed closely by the Harry Potter wizarding world. Wait…if I get to be a guaranteed witch then I might prefer Harry Potter over Narnia…oh no this is too difficult! Other book worlds I love though are Prythian (ACOTAR series) and Ravka/Ketterdam (Grisha series/Six of Crows series).
Who’s your book boyfriend/girlfriend?
ANOTHER TOUGH DECISION. Well, not really. Okay my book boyfriend is a combination (because I want my own special book boyfriend lol) of Rhysand (ACOTAR), Azriel (ACOTAR), Warner (Shatter Me), and Kaz (Six of Crows).
What is your favorite mystical creature?
Okay this is probably one of the most common answers but I love the idea of dragons. In reality I’d probably be terrified of them but as a fictional mystical creature I’m definitely a huge fan. Otherwise I’d have to go with Flick from S.M. Boyce’s Grimoire Saga because it allows you to basically teleport (my number one superpower request) and also look how cute Flick is!!
If you could meet any author who would it be?
Well I’ve met Leigh Bardugo twice and while she’s one of my favorite authors and I would love to go to all of her book tours, an author I’m a big fan of who has managed to evade stopping near where I live is Sarah J. Maas.
What is your anticipated read for the rest of this year?
The Language of Thorns by Leigh Bardugo and All These Crooked Saints by Maggie Steifvater.
If you could have any power what would it be and why?
TELEPORTATION. I loathe sitting in a car for hours, a bus for hours, a plane for hours, etc. PLUS in most parts of the U.S. there is little to no public transportation which is just silly. I love to go places but I hate traveling. If I could teleport I would see the whole world and sleep in my own bed any time I wanted.
What book in the Harry Potter series is your favorite?
Sorcerer’s Stone because every time I revisit it I get excited all over again and I really love watching Harry discover for the first time that he’s a wizard. But I also really love Prisoner of Azkaban because it’s when the world really starts to expand and the characters start to grow.
I nominate…
As I’ve actually already passed on this award before I’m not going to specifically nominate anyone, but if you enjoyed Sarah’s questions then please share your own answers in the comments below! I’d love to read your answers!
All the Crooked Saints is on the top of my list, too! Stiefvater is so amazing. I’d actually love to meet her because she seems really cool and I’m crazy about her work (including her art). I haven’t read anything by Maas yet (I know, I know!), but have plenty of it sitting on my shelves waiting for me.
No idea what power I’d want. I’d like to teleport between dimensions, planets, etc., but truth be told…I love traveling, journey included. I used to fly for business roughly 3 times a week, for over 3 years, and I never tired of it. But I think that’s probably pretty unusual, liking long flights and long drives. 🙂

Ooo Maggie Stiefvater is also an author I’d love to meet! She was at YALLfest last year but by the time I got through one signing line, hers was already being cut off 🙁 She definitely seems like a really cool person to meet though.
I’m glad you love traveling, I wish I could too! I just tend to sleep through most of it or get motion sick (ugh!) which is unfortunate because I really do love exploring new places.
Let me know what you think whenever you get around to taking a peek at one of Maas’ books! 😄
