After reading Lisa Kleypas’ Wallflowers series at a rapid pace I immediately pounced on the sequel series. This set of standalones is connected by the Hathaway family and they are my favorite! Each sibling gets a book and each book I adored. This is simply one of those series that I wish I could read for the first time all over again but even without that ability I will be re-reading these many times over until the covers fall off. The Hathaways are an unconventional bunch made much more apparent when unexpectedly thrust into the peerage when the brother, Leo, suddenly inherits a title and an estate. They try to learn the intricacies of their new position in society and yet they refuse to stamp out the wonderfully free uniqueness that is their spark.
The romance utterly swept me away each book but even without it I would have loved these books. The historical detail, the complex relationships between characters and societal expectations, the love, the grief, the teasing, the- oh well just everything! The first book, Mine Till Midnight, picks up with Cam Rohan whom we first met in Devil in Winter (Wallflowers #3). I have the biggest crush on Cam and because of both his and Merripen’s featured roles in the series we’re given several glimpses into Roma culture which I loved learning about. It’s simply silly to try and write a proper review for this series because I loved everything haha. I truly enjoyed the Wallflowers but I might just love this one even more!! The Hathaways are a family I would dream of joining.

P.S. I think all other romance stories have been ruined for me because of Lisa Kleypas. Will anything else ever hold a candle to these books?
