I couldn’t resist putting together a lil spotlight post for an upcoming release that I am SO excited for! Author Talis Jones has a new series coming out and this time she’s selected the urban fantasy genre. As you all know, I read almost every genre out there but when I need something fun, something to take me away from whatever is causing me stress in my life, I often turn to paranormal or urban fantasy (the difference between the two remains largely unknown to me, I admit). There’s just something about magic or the supernatural set in a world of Walmarts, roller rinks, and student loans that is fun to me. It’s our world, but with a little extra.

The Mercy Thompson series currently includes 12 books with the latest installment released this year (and I think there may be more on the way?) but for this review I’m only covering the series as a whole. I was able to get my hands on all twelve books from my State’s Digital Library but I thought it might be way too much to write out twelve entire individual reviews and figured I’d consolidate it into a series overview. There are also more books in The World of Mercy Thompson which expand the world to include Mercy’s first encounter with Adam and her new job as a mechanic as well as to follow a new pairing, Charles and Anna (also called the Alpha & Omega series). The Guild Codex world has a new series coming out and of course I am excited for it! I first fell into this world through The Guild Codex: Demonized but after reading the only book (at the time) published in that series I had to search for something else to fill my sudden hunger for Urban Fantasy and dove into The Guild Codex: Spellbound. Ever since then I’ve been bouncing back and forth reading both series in the official recommended timeline order as new books are released and I’m ready to add a third!
